Extend three sections of the fence to match the rest in height. The new vertical slats extended the fence height to six (6) feet to keep deer and other wildlife out of the garden.

Existing Conditions
The current fence has varying heights behind the front hedge due to a patchwork approach that’s been employed to repair sections of the fence over the years. This project used existing posts and horizontal pieces to support new vertical slats. The SWC Grounds Committee struggled with damage caused by deer and other wildlife in the garden. Various plantings had to be repeatedly replaced, draining the annual budget. There were gaping holes in the hedge that were not only an eyesore, but a deterrent to potential renters.

Proposed Solution

• Extending the three (3) sections of the fence to match the rest of the site protected the garden from being trampled and eaten by deer and other wildlife

• Making the fence a consistent height allowed the hedge to fill in and create a more aesthetically-pleasing venue

• Repairing the fence reduced the cost of replacing the plants
